The Registration Act, 1908, the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 and the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 mandates the registration of an agreement for sale of an immovable property. By registering the agreement for sale of an immovable property, it becomes a permanent public record. Further, a person is considered as the legal owner of an immovable property only after he gets such property registered in his name.
Carpet area is the actual usable area within the walls of an apartment, where you can lay a carpet. It excludes the thickness of inner walls, balconies, and common areas. Simply put, it’s the space you live in and use every day.
To qualify for tax exemptions in Dubai, register your business in a Free Zone offering 0% corporate tax. Ensure your income is from outside the UAE or within the same Free Zone. Comply with all regulatory and substance requirements set by the authorities.
In Dubai, transferring property as a gift to first-degree relatives (parents, children, or spouse) incurs a reduced fee of 0.125% of the property’s value, with a minimum of AED 2,000.
